As part of the Qualified Persons (QPs) renewal process in the assessment year (i.e. every 5 years starting from 2019), QPs are reminded that the QP Assessment and the DoW CoP Professional Report must be completed and submitted by 30 June 2024 (Tuesday).
To complete the QP renewal process this year, QPs are required to provide the following:
• Updated Chartership status within the past 12 months;
• Updated CPD log (with a minimum of 30 hours of CPD requirement);
• Annual renewal fee;
• Completed QP Assessment*; and
• DoW CoP Professional Report*.
* QPs registered from 2023 onwards are exempt from the requirements of the QP Assessment and the DoW CoP Professional Report for 2024.
The following provides further details on the requirements for the QP Assessment and the DoW CoP Professional Report in 2024.
QP Assessment
The QP Assessment requirement was implemented in 2019. QPs who were registered before 2023 are required to re-sit the test every 5 years.
The current QP Assessment phase has been open for all eligible QPs between 1 January and 30 June 2024. This Assessment is required to ensure the QPs’ knowledge is up-to-date with the most recent DoW CoP and industry guidance.
The QP Assessment is an open-book test. It consists of 20 questions to be completed within 30 minutes. The Assessment is a series of multiple choice or true/false questions. The pass mark is 80% for all participants. If failed on the first attempt, the QP will be locked out of the Assessment for 14 calendar days before a new attempt can be made. Please log in to your CL:AIRE QP account and use the link Qualified Person Assessment 2024 to access the test.

DoW CoP Professional Report
A DoW CoP Professional Report is an individual statement required every assessment year to demonstrate an individual's competencies as a QP. It must be submitted along with the other supporting documentation as part of the 2024 renewal requirements.
For QPs who have submitted the QP renewal form this year without uploading the DoW CoP Professional Report, please ensure you have submitted your Report via the CL:AIRE HelpDesk by 30 June 2024. Alternatively, please fill out the QP renewal form on the QP dashboard (the first page you land on after logging in at https://www.claire.co.uk) and attach the DoW CoP Professional Report by the aforementioned deadline.
The guidance note on preparing the DoW CoP Professional Report is published here: https://www.claire.co.uk/home/news/news/1898-guidelines-for-preparing-the-dow-cop-professional-report.
Timing
The online QP Register will be re-set on 1 July 2024. If CL:AIRE has not received sufficient information to complete an individual's renewal process by 30 June 2024, their name will be removed from the QP Register on the CL:AIRE website (Qualified Person Register (claire.co.uk)).
QPs who have completed the renewal after the deadline of 30 June 2024 are advised to allow up to 48 hours to be re-instated on the QP Register.
Portal
QPs are reminded to register on the Portal in order to submit DoW CoP Declarations.
QPs who have not completed the renewal process by 30 June 2024 will become inactive on the Portal.
Inactive QPs are able to view their past Declarations but will be unable to submit new ones.
QPs who miss the renewal deadline or, for whatever reason, renew at a later date, are advised to allow up to 48 hours to be re-activated in the Portal.
If you have any questions about the QP renewal process, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us via the CL:AIRE HelpDesk.
