CL:AIRE is pleased to join with the University of Greenwich to run the 19th Soils in the South East Workshop (SSE19) on 14 June. This year the workshop is also in conjunction with ISCOWA and is a Mini-WASCON meeting. Topics for discussion include case studies involving waste and soils treatment, construction and demolition waste management, land contamination, developments in the regulation of waste, materials reuse and recovery, and the results of leading-edge research.
SSE19 is designed for developers, consultants, landowners, waste operators, regulators, and those who have an interest in using waste sustainably in the built environment.
There will also be a photographic and poster competition. To enter please send your most artistic image of a materials recovery/remedial project in hard copy or electronic file. A best-poster prize will be awarded to the most innovative approach to soil/wastes/recovery or brownfield site or waste management-related issues. These workshops have been very popular in the past and the networking opportunities have created opportunities for innovative research and new ideas and working partnerships, to enable ongoing innovation and best practice development for managing land contamination, soil and stones resources and waste to resource ideas.
