The Law Commission’s report on Regulating Coal Tip Safety in Wales (LC 406) has recently been published. The report makes recommendations for a new regulatory framework for disused coal tips. This would promote consistency in the management of coal tips across the country and avert danger by introducing a proactive rather than reactive approach. The report can be downloaded here.
