Declaration administration fee increase from 1 October 2021
Since 2016 an administration fee has been applied to all Declarations under the Definition of Waste Code of Practice (DoW CoP) to cover the costs of efficiently progressing and issuing Declaration receipts as well as auditing. Since then, we have seen an increase in both the number of declarations and the number of requests for clarification through the Help Desk. We have also invested heavily in a new portal that will launch in October 2021 in order to improve efficiency and the user experience. To help cover the increased costs and resources required, from 1 October 2021 we are raising the Administration fee to £165.00 (+VAT). More information about the portal will be sent to QPs before launch.
Projects involving the reuse of <5,000m3 will only incur the administration fee.
The volumetric fees are not changing and the rules for applying the fees will also remain the same; i.e the Declaration fee system applies only to projects over 5,000m3 and is charged £10 (+VAT) per 1,000m3 e.g. 1,000 x £0.01. Project volumes are rounded up to the nearest 1,000m3, so therefore a project with a volume of 17,250m3 would be rounded up to 18,000m3 and pay a volumetric fee of £180 (+VAT), plus the administration fee.
Changes to invoicing from 1 October 2021
Due to internal changes at CL:AIRE, from 1 October 2021, the DoW CoP will be operated by a fully owned trading subsidiary of CL:AIRE. Full details will follow before that date.
