EiCLaR is a European (H2020) China project developing combined electrokinetic/biological in situ solutions for contaminated sites, including phytoremediation, working from laboratory to demonstration scale-ups (https://www.eiclar.org). The project would like to explore applicability of these technologies on some additional real world sites with a series of desk studies. These would include a technical benchmarking against other technologies already being considered, and a comparative sustainability assessment (including economic aspects). Would you be interested in putting one of your sites forward for this?
The ideal scenario would be a site which is not already scheduled for treatment, in case we can build a spinout project. An example might be a site where residual groundwater contamination is being managed, but a longer term solution is sought. More detailed briefings are available. If interested, please contact Professor Paul Bardos at r3 environmental technology - paul@r3environmental.co.uk
CL:AIRE and r3 environmental technology are partners in EiCLaR (for more information see press release at https://www.claire.co.uk/home/news/1474-eiclar-press-release).
