Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) has issued a Call for Evidence, the outputs of which will support the development and targeting of policies to achieve the near elimination of biodegradable waste to landfill from 2028, in line with their commitment in the 2021 Net Zero Strategy. The Call for Evidence will run for 6 weeks - from Friday 26 May until Friday 7 July 2023.
Defra is seeking views, data and evidence that will help their understanding of a number of issues around the continued landfilling of biodegradable wastes, as well as help fill the gaps in the data on non-municipal wastes, and on the composition and biodegradability of mixed wastes. The survey is available on Citizen Space here.
