The Environment Agency has updated Land Contamination Risk Management (LCRM). It was last updated in April 2021. This update includes:
- more information on dealing with pollution incidents in the "Before you start" section
- clarification on the use of LCRM for new pollution in the "Before you start" section
- information on the importance of taking climate change into account
- confirmation that Natural Resources Wales support the use of the NQMS
- fixes to broken links
Climate change
The Environment Agency has dispersed throughout LCRM new text for when the potential impact of extreme weather events and the longer term effects of climate change need to be considered as part of the overall risk management approach. This continues to support SuRF-UK's sustainable approach.
