The 19th Soils in the South East Workshop (SSE19), jointly held by the University of Greenwich, CL:AIRE and ISCOWA on 14 June, was a great success! Delegates were treated to a full day of interesting presentations on matters related to land quality, sustainable management, remediation, wastes, and materials management and reuse. Presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities were welcomed by returning delegates and new faces.

Over 80 people registered for the event and this led to busy networking sessions, accompanied by a great buffet lunch provided by the University. The day was chaired ably by Tom Pugh of GRS Roadstone Group, who also sponsored a number of student places, enabling a cohort of the University Land Quality MSc students to attend, supporting future generation land quality specialists, as well as current practitioners.

Plaudits for this inclusive, diverse and professional event were quickly posted on LinkedIn and there are already offers of speakers for next year’s event, so keep an eye out for further details in due course.
