Following on from a public consultation which was held through October and November 2017, Department of Business, Energy Industrial Strategy (BEIS) specified that there would be further targeted engagement to seek comments on draft revisions to the Statutory Guidance that forms part of the Radioactive Contaminated Land (RCL) regime. BEIS are now carrying out a short, targeted consultative exercise to gain input from the expert community on the revised Statutory Guidance for RCL for England and Wales.
Linked below is the revised Statutory Guidance and the targeted consultation document, which gives an overall view of the revisions. Also linked is the current drafting of The Radioactive Contaminated Land Regulations (Modification of Enactments) (England) 2006.
BEIS would welcome comments from either individual organisations or collated comments from representative bodies, by close of play Friday 19th January 2018. Comments to go to BSSDPublicExposures@beis.gov.uk. BEIS will only consider comments received before the new guidance is finalised in the coming weeks.
