Qualified Persons (QP) and new applicants are required to pass the online Assessment to demonstrate their level of knowledge is up-to-date with the most recent DoW CoP and industry guidance.
The Assessment link is available on the Actions panel of your QP Dashboard (the first page you land on after logging in at https://claire.co.uk).
Requirements:
- Existing QPs must complete and pass this Assessment by 30 June 2024.
- New applicants are required to pass this Assessment as part of their application to become a QP.

During the Assessment:
- The Assessment consists of 20 short answer questions, either multiple-choice or true/false.
- It must be completed within 30 minutes.
- Once you click the “Finish Attempt…” button, you can no longer change your answers, and your mark will be given immediately.
- The pass mark is set as 80%, or 16 out of 20, for all participants.

After the Assessment:
Successful attempt
- A certificate will be for download. It should be kept until the next QP Assessment year.
Unsuccessful attempt
- For existing QPs:
- If unsuccessful on the first attempt, you will be locked out of the Assessment for 14 calendar days before a new attempt can be made.
- If unsuccessful on the second attempt, your QP status will be temporarily suspended until a one-to-one review session with the Dow CoP team is held where a course of action for further knowledge improvement will be agreed.
- For QP applicants:
- If unsuccessful on the first attempt, you will be locked out of the Assessment for 14 calendar days before a new attempt.
- If unsuccessful on the second attempt, you will be locked out for further attempts. Should you wish to continue with your application, a one-to-one review meeting will be arranged with a senior member of the DoW CoP team.
- The final attempt can be taken 30 days after the review meeting.
- New applicants who fail the third attempt will need to re-attend DoW CoP training.
It is the responsibility of the QP or QP applicant who fails the Assessment to book the one-to-one review meeting via the Help Desk. Please allow two to four weeks for the meeting to be arranged. Any other queries regarding the Assessment can also be raised through the Help Desk.
